Holly & James’ Larmer Tree Wedding Film
I was looking forward to filming Holly & James’ big day for them as it gave me a chance to explore a wedding venue slightly further afield from my usual stomping ground in the South East Videography realm! If you haven’t heard of Larmer Tree Gardens before you should go and check them out. A truly unique wedding venue set in Wiltshire, an incredible garden with quirky artefacts and architecture inspired by buildings and temples from around the world. There are also colourful peacocks roaming everywhere and you really get the feel you’re in a romantic novel!
The bridal party were getting ready in the nearby King John’s house which was a cute Tudor mansion just around the corner from the wedding venue with really old staircases and wooden carvings. The north-facing window let in some gorgeous soft light . You might hear from Photographers and Wedding Videographers that lighting is everything, and it really does make a difference. The shots of the bridal party came out really nicely and the light was a key factor.
I darted over to where the groomsmen were getting ready the other side of the building. Their proximity made it really easy to capture the bride and the groom’s side as often the main focus is on the bridal party. One of the fun things that Holly and James had arranged was for a Tuk Tuk to transport them to the wedding venue! I love this kind of detail and it’s these things where the couple can really stamp their personality on their wedding.
After the ceremony we took the couple in the Tuk Tuk around the grounds and got some amazing footage of the newlyweds on the ornate stage for their unofficial first dance! I love this type of wedding videography where most of my filming is candid shots but sometimes the coupe are happy to “play up to the camera” a little. Holly’s wedding dress was stunning and she looked the part on the outdoor stage.
