Ian & Carley’s French Chateau Wedding Film

Ian & Carley’s French Chateau Wedding Film

Ian & Carley’s French destination wedding was at the wonderful Chateau de Varennes in the Burgundy region of France. The venue itself has recently been voted as a Top 10 Wedding venue in the world by CNN. And upon driving up the long driveway lined by huge trees and rural France you can see why! The chateau itself was built in the 18th century and looks fit for royalty. I couldn’t wait to begin the videography!

The preparations got underway on the first floor of the chateau, with the bridesmaids having hair and make up done and the groomsmen in a separate wing finessing their ties and collars. The day itself was one of the hottest of the summer, well over 30 degrees and not a cloud present. Perfect for an outdoor destination wedding in quintessential France. For the wedding ceremony film I placed myself at the front to get the stunning shot of the bride walking down the aisle.

After the marriage, the guests understandably hugged the shade around the sprawling grounds as canapés and cocktails were served. One of the most memorable parts of the afternoon was the traditional throwing of the bouquet, from the first floor balcony! It looked like something out of a Disney wedding!

After the food and speeches, the first dance was lit by the guests holding sparklers, and give for a really romantic vibe. There was also an unexpected gorgeous fiery sunset which the photographer and I used as much as possible and I was excited to include in the wedding film. The wedding videography didn’t stop there as the party got underway beneath the stars and a clear night sky
