Lucy & Laurence’s Lake Como Wedding Film

Lucy & Laurence’s destination wedding was in one of the most scenic areas of Europe; Lake Como in Italy. For those of you that have been lucky enough to visit you’ll know it is renowned for its turquoise waters, cobbled streets, flamboyant Italian lakeside Villas and restaurants serving delicious pizza and pasta. For this destination wedding film I wanted to infuse the old world charm of Lake Como, with the glitz and glamour that comes with a wedding in this picturesque region.

After waking up early for a Cappuccino on the street below my apartment, I headed over early to Laurence & Lucy’s Villa they were basing themselves in. I was there to capture Lucy and her bridal party getting ready. The Villa itself was up in the hills overlooking the lake, with stunning views down below which I wanted to express in the film. The bridal party were getting ready on the top floor, and the soft natural light in the airy room was a videographers dream to work with! One of my favourite things about capturing the bridal preparations is the reactions of friends and family when they see the bride for the first time.

The ceremony was to be held in the quaint town of Tremezzo, at the salubrious Villa Carlotta; an 18th century home to the Clerici family which nowadays is a museum and botanical garden. Post ceremony the guests were rewarded with a luxury boat tour around the Lake whilst the couple had their photos taken. However much to everyone’s surprise, the couple caught up in their own speedboat oozing all the glamour of a James Bond movie!

The final berth was a beach club down the lake, called Lido di Lenno. Think sandy cove, hazy sunsets, canapés Italian style and plenty of bubbly! The wedding party was in full swing after the delectable fish, meat and pasta served for dinner. Capping off the night with a sparkler tunnel for the bride and groom, and plenty of Cocktails and Limoncello!
